Z500 Rider - New to KZ forum

First things first,
hi i'm Ian, 27 yrs old from Buckinghamshire, England,

I've been riding for about 3yrs now, currently have a yamaha FZ6 and a 1980 Z500.



The Z500 is currently uninsurred but MOT'd and Taxed, should be insuring it in the next couple of weeks, It runs like a dream, no problems at all.
Had it upto 100mph, shakes a bit but i think it may go (slightly) quicker!

I've got some ACE bars and raask rear sets to go on, i'm going to turn it into a mild cafe racer. I want to paint it in the original black too, but will have to wait until i can afford that!

A bit of a rarity the Z500.
Never seen one over here in Canada.
Looks like a nice bike, like the early GPz550.

its a cracking bike which i love riding but have been unable to due to insurance issues, so i cant wait for the 2nd september when i'll be insured again!
only cost me £30 ontop of the FZ6 to insure too!!

Welcome Ian...most of us have never seen a Z500 (never sold in North America) but it is very similar to the KZ550.

yeah i've been trying to find out information about them but there isn't alot, i believe there were about 16000(?) made though before it morphed into the (K)Z550.
