My '72 750
17 Aug 2007 21:06
These pics are from when I got my bike back in 94, turned 16 in 96. My Dad and I fixed it up and I rode it for 3 years before I moved away and left my bike. Now I am going to be getting it back and get it running again.

Welcome to KZR. I think you are off by a few years on the model year, Kawasaki didn't start making the 750 twins until 1976 and produced them with the spoked wheels until 79. Your bike has to fall somewhere in that range. Check the neck of the frame and see if the white sticker is still attached, if it is you will be able to find the date of manufacture. BTW the white paint looks sharp.

Jawz don't sweat it man you haven't seen the bike in a few years. Shoe owns several KZ 750's and I was working at a dealership when your bike was new. When I saw the title of your post I was expecting to see an H2 750 two stroke triple which was the only 750 Kaw made in 72. Better to find out here than to go to the dealer and try and order parts for an H2 . BTW I'll bet if you rode it like that for 3 years your butt still hurts.

As if you had any doubt, my bike is a '76. I brought it home today and took the tank off which was dry with a little surface rust so I'll have to take care of that...Suggestions? My petcock was turned to off so I must have drained it when I put it away. I took the carbs off and things don't look bad. So anyways, fun will be had and I'll most likely turn to ya'll when I get stumped.

Welcome! Nice bike! Pull the petcock out of the tank and clean the screen, also, flush out the tank, just be careful and install an inline fuel filter. Did you pull the float bowls off the carbs? Good Idea to pull the jets and clean them. Keep us posted as to the progress. And pics are always welcome;)
