Yep...new to the site. And new to KZ's. I bought my '79 KZ1000 LTD about 3 weeks ago after my 2000 Royal Enfield broke down AGAIN and I'd finally gotten fed up with it's very poor reliability. So I decided I'd better go out and find something cheap and reliable to ride while I save up some scratch for a nice shiny new Triumph Bonneville (I am, I must admit, primarily a fan of British bikes.) I had resigned myself to the idea that I'd end up with a bike I really didn't like all that much, just to have something to ride in the short term. Now, while I'm still saving for that Bonny, I have definitely fallen in love with this KZ....but one can never have too many bikes, right? I couldn't be happier that my KZ found me - and I'm having way too damn much fun riding the thing!
As for the details on the bike itself, as I said, she's a '79 KZ1000 LTD, 25,000 miles...not in perfect shape, but the only real issues are some minor cosmetic ones - appears to have been really well taken care of. All stock except for pod filters, Kerker 4-into-1 exhaust, and the original mag wheels have been swapped for wires (much better looking, IMO). Don't have any photos yet, but I'll certainly have to take some soon.
