Hello from Tokyo
25 Jul 2007 20:42
Hello friends,
My name is Ken from Tokyo.
I'm very happy to join this forum.
This is my '78 Z1r from US which I bought around 10 years ago.
I love the sound from this KERKER 4-1 pipe!
Thank you!

Welcome Ken
Hey, what about Japanese shakken? Does it apply to bikes too?
A lot of us here do all the work to our own bikes. Is this allowed in Tokyo? Or do you have to take it to the shop?
Also, is there a special registration needed for the older bikes there?
I have heard that the laws are tougher is all.

Welcome, and hajima mashte (sp?).
That's a very cool picture. Looks very professional, like you'd see in magazine. You should post some hi-res pics in the gallery. Stein might include them in next year's calendar.

Thank you fellows,
I attached more picture which you requested.
Regarding our work, most people in Japan take their motorcycle to shop for hyeavy maintainance or customizing.
But technical charge for motorcycle shop is always expensive so I do basic maintainance by myself.
Since safety inspection system which called "Shaken" in Japanese is more severe, I have to change my KERKER pipe to silent one.
No special resistration needed for old motorcycles.
If it meets safty reguration in Japan, we can resister.
Thank you.
