Hello from Ohio

Greetings, all. I live in Lancaster, Ohio (recently moved from Huntsville, AL) and am happy to own and ride the last of the air-cooled 750's sold in the US, a ZR-7S. Like lots of folks, I took a long break from riding and returned to it in my 40's. Other rides at present are a '95 GPz1100 and my wife's Ninja 250. I have some prior connections with members here through other forums (Zammy and Inline4 through riderforums.com) and I'm here to learn all I can about maintaining and enjoying my 750. I also keep looking for '81 GPz550's, but I'm controlling myself at present!

Regards,
Paul in Ohio

Welcome Paul. B)

Nice looking 750.

Last of the air-cooled 750s huh?
Is the motor the same as the 750s of the 80s, although updated over time?
I was reading an article on the 650 motor, which evolved into the 750. It stated the engine was one of, if not even, Kawi's longest produced engine series. Over 25 years when this article was written.

Do post up some pictures of your GPz and the wife's Ninja as well.

Yeah the piston size and stroke are the same as the kz750s. Some members have adapted their stainless steel pipes to the kz line...

I have been wondering if the heads/cams were any better than the older kz heads... I believe the carb spacing is different, but i remember someone saying that all you need to do is use the zr-7s carb holders.

It will be interesting to see if these bikes will make for another source of spare parts!! :p

bought it because I was told it would never run again...I like to prove people wrong.
