kz650 sr

Just bought a 78 kz650sr. Its an awesome bike. I have 3 bikes, 2005 shadow 1100 sabre, 81 cb750 custom, and this new kz650sr. The kawi is the funest to ride by far. It is snappy and light. It has much quicker acceleration than my 1100 and its much lighter than my 750. I bought it with only 8000 miles on it for only $600. It does not look new because for the last 18 years it was stored in a carport. Left side beautiful, right side not beautiful. Any way it runs like it was new. When I bought it it would not start very quickly. just crank and crank but I ran across you all and saw that relay mod and built it and installed it. Now the bike fires right up and runs like a dream. I am thinking I will restore it. It will need some paint and the exhaust which does not have a scratch on it will need replated, which I think is going to cost me more than I paid for the bike. Any way I'm here and loving the bike and am very happy to have run accross you all.

Yep I have to agree with you on these bikes being fun. I ride my SR more than my LTD since it is lighter and it has been my first project. What color is yours? If red, I would stick with that red. I wouldn't say the reds ones are rare, just look better than the other colors.

Welcome to another Stateside Replica rider. There are LOTS of knowledgable folks here. I've been helped a lot by the advice obtained here.
It's a good idea to put your bike info and location in your signature line.

Welcome!

The SR is a fine bike (I'll keep saying that despite the fits I'm having with a '78 SR. Grrrr) and is fun to ride. The 650 is a well balanced motorcycle and Kawasaki really hit the mark with them.
