Hey guys
29 Apr 2007 01:20
I'm new to the KZ world. I've got an 81 KZ1000 CSR sitting out back. I guess my first questions are what does the CSR stand for and when I'm searching for parts, what's the difference between the M1 and M2 models?

My guess is that CSR stands for Cruiser, and I don't know of any differences between the M1 (1981) and M2 (1982).

CSR stands for "Chrome Spoke Rim". You should have a 19" up front and a 16" rear.

Way back in the day when I was selling them new, we used to say that CSR stood for cheap street ride. Now before all the CSR owners get upset take note that I own 2 and they are among my favorites.

It's in some Kawasaki literature I have around somewhere, really! The 81 Model CSR 1000, means Chrome Spoke Rim.

Chicken Shack Racer?
I wonder how many times this question has been asked on KZR? 30 or 40?

i was told custom spoked rim. they use 48 spoke hubs where 36 and 40 are the more standard spoke counts, that I verified with Buchanans spoke and rim.
In my case it's going to stand for "cafe styled racer"
har har...
