New to street bikes. Back 17 or so years ago I was always busting the dirt on a '79 Yamaha IT175, then left home, went to tech school, got a job, and forgot about riding.
I helped my brother-in-law move, and when it came time to load up the 550, he said, "Bring it to your place."
Talk about a worthwhile move!!(Sorry -no pics yet)
The bike sat under a cedar tree for 5 years, so a little bit of clean up to do. I've already got all the mechs working again. All the cables, brakes, carbs, and engine were tight , so I got those all freed up.
Now just a matter of a good wash and wax, and then see whats to replace for aesthetics.
I have put some new files in the 1981 550 area for those interested. I also have a service manual I could upload, if anyone is interested. The manual is courtesy of some member here( sorry- do not remember your name)I have broken it down to its chapters for easier reading. Let me know.
