hi, i'm new, and this is my bike was created by themachine
i bought my 83 csr1000 almost a year ago as my first bike, i payed 1000$ for it (dollar a cc) it was black with a cracked up fairing, it needed paint but other than that it was in really nice shape, it had 31k on the clock (now has 34K) i tore off the old windjammer fairing and proceded to tear off the old paint and lay on some "house of color" color changing purple with 4 coats of clear, i also put drag bars on it and removed the mirrors, i plan on rebuilding the motor with a higher compression ratio/more cam this winter.

I really like your "after"...:)

Tell us more about restoring vintage military vehicles if you don't mind. I am a former hardcore collector of militaria and current amatuer historian with a curious mind. B)

I like it man! My LTD is almost identical to yours, but I ordered some handlebars to replace those uncomfortable goat horns I have on there now. When I spray my bike I plan on doing the fenders also though, but as us Caribbeans say to how your bike looks " SOLID!" THE WAY WE LIKE OUR WOMEN

1979 KZ SR650, stock candy persimmon red and crossover pipes
1981 KZ 1000LTD with non stock and more comfortable handle bars and 4 into one V&H

this is the most recent restoration we have done, its a 1941 white m1a2, it is armed with 1 .50cal and 1 .30 cal
this was one of the earliest models of the american halftrack, my father found it at an auction, it had been used to string powerlines in the backwoods of minnesota up and down hilly terrain, the frame was bent as a result and it was missing the armor from the cab back, we measured armor off another one and had to fabricate our own, it took 3 years to finish this one off.

this next one is a 1941 dodge "command car"

we took a chevy pickup frame and and put the body on that, it has dana 44's with 4:56 gears and 42" superswampers, making the power is a 468 big block chevy, 12.5:1 compression, lumpy cam, ported heads, h beam rods, 1,100CFM predator, with a built turbo 400 and a new process geardrive transfer case.

it has leather seats from a suburban and a new canvas top.

these are very rare, after the war these were usually bought by farmers and they chopped the back off of them to turn em into flatbeds, we were lucky enough to find a rear portion and weld it on, the body had tons of holes to fill too, had to chop the firewall back to get the engine to fit.

sadly i only have two pics of it, my father sold it after we finished the half track to pay off the bills

and the most recent addition is a 194? stuart, i think the main cannon it 47 or 37 mm, it still had the breech and block but it "was" welded shut, the interior is completely gutted, it sat for year outside a childrens amusement park down in Tennessee, he paid 25,000 for it on e-bay, lol, thats right ebay.

the interior is horrible, no motors no trans, was origionally powerd by two flathead caddy v-8's, were putting in two chevy small block 400's :D and two turbo hydramatic 400 transmissions, my dad managed to find a bunch of NOS parts for it, even a NOS rebuilt transfer case, that halftrack has a nos motor and a nos trans but were putting the restoration on hold until we get another hot rod truck finished.

my father also has a yard full of other trucks/projects, including two M4 artillary tractors (tanks without aurmor) a couple of powerwagons, a vietnam mack, a Huge 1941 Dimond T wrecker an all origional M37 with superswampers on it :D and a weapons carrier.

img234.imageshack.us/my.php?image=stuartrightsideur7.jpg

heres an inside pic from the engine bay doors looking at the front, note the old transfercase at the very front, it used to be all white at inside when new

img149.imageshack.us/my.php?image=insidestuartjf4.jpg

heres a pic of the breech inside the turret looking down, oddly enough we found an old Barbie jammed down the barrel when we got it opened.

i got the bars off of ebay brand new, paid 27 bucks total, they barly clear the tank, they have an inch rise, are 28 inches wide, and the pullback is about 2.5' after about 30 minutes of riding my back starts to hurt and i'm only 19, but the look and feel are worth it, its also a lot easier to control too compared to those baby apes i used to have on.
