5 months, 300+ hrs, and about $6,000 later... Gonna be right at about $9,000 when engine is paid for and done along with remaining items.
Lovely flat black powdercoat on assorted bits! Notice the lack of perches on the top triple. Nice custom touch courtesy of Mr. Dewalt 4.5" angle grinder...
Right 2002 Honda CBR954RR rearset including master cylinder... All custom powdercoated. Riding on 3/4" solid steel standoffs TIG'd to frame and hand tapped to 8x1.25mm, 1" deep, grade 8 bolts..
Left 954 rearset including custom shorty shift linkage! Thanks RUSS you TIG master!
The frame as it came back form pcoat. You can see the battery / electronics tray and subframe for the seat, gussets and custom coil mounts. Very slick!
I did all fab work and MIG welding. Some areas of high stress I had Rus go over with TIG and SS rod to bed the weld in with a monster Lincoln IdealArc TIG monster
Here she is! Wow what a stunner she'll draped in super bright ass orange with a checkered flag stripe kit down the spine.
Gauge mount not yet pcoated, chain snails, kickstand and a couple spacers and pcoat is all done
Totally custom harness from scratch with 16, 14, 10 and 4 gauge wire, 3 relays, spring back marine ignition key mounted behind right knee. All works perfect and all 6 indicator lights in gauge work perfect, signals, hi beam, oil press, neut, etc... This was during harness build, much cleaner now. All fused properly, gonnna step down fuses to the point they bloe, 2.5 or 5amp probally for many, then go up one size. Only had 10's and 30's to test initially. Very proud of this area! About 30 hours in testing and building this harness from scratch
I approve of the ergonomics!
Paint next week, upholstery in two. Engine in two weeks, carbs from WG as soon as he can. Still need chain, sprockets, brake lines, throttle clutch cables, headlight bracket and other small bits.
Not a piece on this thing is stock, and what is has been completely gone through. All bearing new, all seals new, list goes on forever.
What do you guys think?
Thanks, later.
Jason
