Harley riders! Why? was created by Vorbeck
I was informed buy a group of harley owners.

1. To get a real bike .
2. That harley davidson bikes make REAL power.
3. Buy American. (Harley davidson finance dept interest goes to China)
4. Get a man's bike, something over 1000cc.
5. Harleys shake because they make power.
6. Nothing out pulls a harley.

I went to help my nephew's grandfather get his new , custom paint job,, not worth the money harley. The old man waited to pick it up on the day of the labor day cook out, so more people would see it!

My kz1000, at a harley davidson dealer on a cook out day , attracted loads of attention.

They tried to sell me a 2 year old bike for $3,000 more than the list of the same one new. I just shook my head and kept my mouth shut.

The food was good!

I kick started it to leave.

Im pretty sure that HD suspension, brakes and rims are all Japanese made. I’ve heard as low as 63% of parts HD uses are American made. You’d need to go back before AMF took over to find a true America made HD. I love pulling the side covers of my Lincoln Nebraska made bike and showing them the made in America casting. As for “real” power, my 42 yo, 1978 mostly stock Kz1000 LTD will pull at least a half bike length on my sons 2014 Street Glide with stage 2 mods. This fall when I do engine mods similar to his stage 2, i.e. higher compression pistons, cams and fresh valve job he won’t be able to touch me. Granted his 6 speed and more mass is nicer for a cruise but we’re not comparing that here, you mentioned “real” power. The big difference is he is still making a $360 payment. The last time out I pulled him by about the same half bike length, he shut down early and when he pulled along side me at the next light he said “ Damn that little thing is fast” I just smiled and pulled away as the light changed.

Hard to tell from your post if you want one or not.
I have an antique Harley and Jap bikes, I like both.
If you are attracted and want one go ahead and get one.

I totally agree all bikes are cool. I didn't mean to imply HD isn't a worthy bike. It sounded like the OP ran into a bunch of HD purists. I was just picking apart their absurd exaggerations
