word of mouth

had a gentleman call my shop yesterday from NY state, he is about 2 hours away from me I, my shop is in Western Mass MA .He heard through the grapevine that I do quality work on air cooled Volkswagens. had a great chat with him. he is a welding instructor at a high school. well long and short is he is booked in at the end of the month for me to go through his 1963 Beetle .

There was a shop 6 miles from me in the 70s and 80s where the guy knew VW's front ward and back.... nice guy did some work on a Ghia I had for a while....... his farm still has a bunch of em along with a few buggy's sitting around in and next to a couple sheds.....

Thought about hopping one up for a while ..... bought one of those HP books on hopping them up and it looked like fun..... I can still remember a dark blue 65-68 or so one with flared fenders and Cragers with ovals that I feel in love with when younger........ a friend of my dad that worked together never had anything else than 2 bugs from the 50s till maybe around the late 90s when he retired.

Very cool!!!! I love old VW's!!!!!!!!! Have 4 at the moment, all Beetle's . Always and still want a Ghia and a Thing..........to add to the collection.
