I currently go to college for an Agricultural Education degree (shop teacher). But my grades suck and I hate college life so I'm thinking that I need to stop wasting time. Ship out for basic training next fall. In the evenings I put hydraulic hoses together (YAY).

Hey Sleeper, we occasionally buy some stuff from you for our Diesel fire pumps!

Lots of interesting comments on this thread. Me? Been all over mostly working in power plants and related trades. I have worked in California (Hotel del Coronado...they have a real nice underground powerhouse) Sinai Desert, Egypt (operated Diesel generators for the peacekeepers) but the last 20 years I have been working in a small power plant near Ann Arbor, where I am affectionately referred to as the Stupid-visor. It's not as exciting as working overseas or in southern Cal but it pays the bills and has afforded me to raise 4 kids mostly by myself.

Retirement? Maybe when I'm 95!

I'm a mechanical engineering student right now, I do a lot of things. I've worked at a refinery doing Energy Conservation, at a big oil company doing maintenance support for an offshore platform. This summer I'm going to Qatar to develop a mechanical maintenance program for a technical college.

But what I do in my spare time, and what I'll be doing when I'm out of school, is design race bikes and race cars. Their engines at least, if I don't get snagged into suspension modeling. Seems to be going that way recently though.

Danny,
I ride with LAMA; two of my brothers in the club work for the CTA Rudy and Pepe. They ride the gasp honda vtx1800. Wonder how many of you guys actually know each other. They are really cool guys. You could come and ride with our group sometime. Be good to have some kz's with us in the group. I hate to have to dominate the group all the time but someone has to do it.
At any rate I am a CPS school teacher when I am not working. Getting paid to teach? Hah like free money. WEll, at least that is what everone says, but really we are talking about the youth of Chicago here and the general attitude of the students concerning music. If you can keep them motivated to learn well then that is WORK for sure. I love it so it to me it is like free money. The kids love it too that is why they keep signing up for music year after year.:woohoo: It has nothing to do with the fact that they only have to pass one year of music class.

Well I guess I am the only Pinchaser!

You know, the guy stuck in the back of the bowling alley who has to chase down all of the pins that fly out of the machines, as well as keep the machines running smoothly during use. Actually I have done in the past 10 years here. and still get called upon to do. Bartending, management, and cook. www.dondeelanes.com
