Im looking at it being the correct part 100% original. there seems to be a question about the tank badges, that I dont understand. Thanks Gum

Gum,

If you are restoring a 73 Z1, that tank and side covers on eBay would be correct. The photos on eBay don't show the tail detail, but the 73 and 74 have two ribs that the tool tray slides on and the 75 has none. This does show when you have the seat flipped up. What year are you restoring?

I recommend that you find your way to the Z1/Z900 Worldwide Owners Community at MSN groups. The folks there are fanatic restorers and can point out ANYTHING that isn't correct on an early Z1. I know that the tank on the earliest Z1s has a different edge than later 73 tanks (I think) but since I don't restore, I am not up on all details. Check it out! This place is livlier and has more extensive tech expertise but for restore stuff, the Comm (as they are called) is real good. If you decide to RESTORE and want some very accurate paint work, check out PaintWorkz as I have heard they are about the best in the business!

Thanks to all, I have just bought a Z1. It has original bodywork, with a few dents. I dont want to paint it as its only original once. Im thinking that I may get the correct set and paint it up.
I also need the rear shocks [ original ] Im shipping it out of the USA early next year, so does anyone know the engine and 4 x exhaust weight. Im working out the best way to get it out. The numbers are around 13500. Thanks Gum.
