Anybody here done it? Is it possible to do 2 tone? Can you mask parts and then do them another color? I also heard there was a chrome powdercoat that looks remarkably good. Not to take away work from any of the good painters but just wondering what it would look like. Yes a metal tank! I guess the painters would still have the sidecovers and tails.

you can pc anything metal, however twotone is almost impossible.
you can do a twotone fade but creating a sharp edge is impossible.

most poeple dont pc tanks because although its tough it can chip and once its chipped theres no fix.all you can do is cover it up or media blast and redo it.

i havnt done alot of pc'n personally but ive seen just about any color you can think of.
i havnt heard of chrome pc but ive seen mettalic(looking)
that looks a bit like gold/silver krylon when its done.

if you decide to go ahead with it please dont forget the obvious. clean the tank WELL. no gas no fumes.
could jus ruin yer day:laugh: ;)

I have done a tank.. it turned out nice... the sheet metal was perfect so the finish was nice.. if you have any dings it will show, there is hi-temp filler, i have never used it but its supposed to work good.
I use uv/fuel resistant powder, so gas is no problem.

The silver chrome looks really good if you have a clear coat put on it. I'm getting a bunch of valve covers for Honda's done and they will hopefully sell for some$$$!
I had a friend do a three tone fade on an old Schwinn Stingray frame. It looks really cool. I'll see if I can get a pic of it this weekend. It started pink at the front and went to a really dark blue by the back of the frame.

How expensive is powder? Say, for something like an old luggage rack?
