Just curious. Has anyone removed the paint and polished the handlebar controls? I'm wondering if the cases are aluminum or steel - looks to be aluminum to me.

I'm in the process of redoing mine. I stripped them all down and thought they might look cool polished with black lettering. But it just doesn't look right with the chrome handlebars. I've repainted them black and just made all the lettering white.
The new paint makes a big difference, but the lettering is a PITA!

They're aluminum.

Given a boffo-buffer shine with Mario's lettering idea, they might just look peachy-keen on a custom setup like Sandracer's FatKaw. ;)

There's a thread somewhere in the Archive that shows pics of polished controls, but I can't find it.
I did find one I posted last year, but mine is for repainting/re-lettering.
Pics are included, if you're interested.
