the tank has been filled up with water and has no leaks, only at the fuel cap but i need to buy a new fuel cap anyway so no surprises there. i don't know how it'd act under pressure though.
for now i'm letting her drain and letting the water dry before i continue.

You might want to force dry, otherwise that water you put inside will create more rust.

i have force dried the tank.

i can understand how to work on rust on the outside of the tank, however i would like to know what you guys use to remove paint from a fuel tank.
he inside seems too difficult for me to handle properly. since i don't have any experience on it, also i don't know what kind of anti-corrosion materials i'd need for the inside of the tank once i have dealt with the corrosion. i will pull some contacts for help, but just in case, What would your guys' advice be?

I use only POR15 since decades to repair, de-rust and seal fuel tanks.

www.por15.de/Fuel-Tank-Kits:::15.html

Used a POR15 10 liter kit on a classic moped tank a few days ago.
If you follow the ikit instruction you will get superb results like me.

Picture shows the first step, degreasing the tank. A lot gung and rust flake covert under the cracked fuel and oil layer dissolved.

I was talking to a teacher at school and he said our school has a blasting cabin, and that i was welcome to use it. so that means that the corrosion can be deal with like that. so i just need to strip it of paint.

The blast cabinet will remove the paint as well as the rust...on the outside of the tank.  You will still have to remove rust inside using a solution of some kind.

When blasting, start with a medium low pressure, like 60 psi, and see how that does.  Don't crank up the pressure to 120 psi right away, because you may blow holes in the tank where the rust is.
