Z1R fairing was created by 750 R1
I was just trying to order a screen for a Z1r fairing , the guy I emailed reckons there are to different Z1r Fairings, he said "There are 2 distinct shapes, one is rounder than  the other.
The American style has a "flatter"  arc along the front , whereas the Australian fairing has a more rounded arc to the screen.
Anyone familiar with this?  This is the first time I've ever heard this....

I've never seen or read anything about any difference in Z1R fairings, but I've also been been to Australia.  :)

Even the reproduction windscreens from PMC others that I've looked at have never mentioned any difference between Z1R models.

It sounds to me like he has confused the Z1R fairing with the later GPz fairing.  The GPz has a flattened front surface.

He's adamant there's 2 different shaped fairings for the Z1R, he sells 2 different screens to fit both, i've never heard of that either, he even has drawings to support his assertions....Its got me beat.

I'm happy to take pictures of an "American" fairing and take measurements.

Is there a separate Australian model specific parts diagram that you know of?  It seems like the US sites only show the North American market parts.  For example, the euro models have a different rear fender and turn signal mount.  Those parts don't show up on partzilla.com or kawasaki.com/en-us/

If the Australian model has a different shape, it should have a different part number.

I think you mean sold.

Looks like most of the items are gone.

Edit.  Ok, not as much as I first thought.  I guess just the things I thought were most interesting.  :)

I took pics of my fairing and sent them to him, he told me I need the 55a screen in this link, He told me to look at the differences in the "drawings", It was a WTF moment for me, I could draw better in 1966, I was three....!!

His words     "There are 2 distinct shapes, one is rounder than  the other.
The American style has a "flatter"  arc along the front (K-55(a) whereas the Australian fairing has a more rounded arc to the screen (K-55(c). It's very difficult to differentiate, but one won't fit the other and vice versa.".....

So he said you need a 55a, and that the US models use a 55a?  Do you have a US model fairing?  Maybe post some pictures.

That's not a great drawing, and it has some odd notes here and there, but K-55a looks like every Z1R windscreen I've ever seen, and I've never seen any like the others.

What are you looking for?  I have some OE windscreens.  :)

I figured I'd look through  Tony Sculpher Z1R book .  There is an entire table that shows the tiny variation for each export market.  Like signal lenses and reflectors and spark plug caps.  There is no mention of any fairing or windscreen differences between markets.  And it seems to be the case that Mr. Sculpher is Australian, so I figure he would know.  :)

I bought a fairing  from Webike in Japan, so its not original, I sent pictures of it to the screen guy and he said 55a screen fitted. I'll post a couple of pics of my fairing, the holes seem to be at 107mm centers...
