Fuel tanks and fitment. was created by Bulletkz
Does anyone know what fuel tanks interchange?
Not looking for correct models but will it fit.
I have a Kawasaki kz1000 ltd with a rusty inside tank.
I sealed it with a kBS kit a few months ago and it is already lifting and rusting underneath.
I am also trying to make the bike look like a older model and is not stock.

If you post some measurements of the mounts others could check their tanks easier and might be able to give you an idea.

Nice work so far! Keep the LTD smaller tank! Please! You can find a tank pretty easy.
Will be a tough looking retro KZ.
For sealers! I have found the "CASWELL PRODUCT"
It's a 2 part Phenol Novolac Epoxy. It thrives on old bad sealers and rust or corrosion.
I used some on a set of 1968 Harley Electra Glide rare tanks. I Loved it.
But find a Kaw LTD tank It is the heart and base of these models besides the engine of course.
That ZX600 is a nice conversion swinger, I did one with 2 regular shocks a few years ago.

Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!

Thank.
I have been looking for a replacement but not much luck.
They are either as bad as mine or priced as high as a whole bike.
Doesn't look fun to remove the sealer in my tank either.
I'm doing a high end paint job and don't want it going bad in a few years.

I might have an LTD tank in good shape except for the paint.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I checked my spares and found my tank. This tank came off my '80 KZ1000 LTD. The bike sat for about 8 years, in plastic wrap until I bought it in 2015. I never used the tank, tail piece or side covers because I bought a set online in '78 colours that I really liked. The tank is in fair condition, with some minor surface rust inside and one ding on the right front that a body person could probably pull out. It's not deep...just a crease. The paint is bad...needs to be repainted. Here are a couple of photos. If you want it you can have it for a $100 donation to KZRiders...and I will pay the shipping if you are in North America. I live in central BC, Canada.
