My terminology might be wrong, but the stuff we use as glass replacement in our drag cars is called Lexan, and is pliable to a degree and drillable without shattering or cracking, unlike the Plexiglass the Z1R windscreen is made of.

Gotcha. I’ve never noticed a difference, but then again I don’t work with either on a regular basis.

Got a windshield from Red Line Cycle, it is shaped and cut correctly and the color is at the least very close to right. When comparing it to my 42 year old stocker it's darker than were the sun bleached it and a little bit lighter than under the rubber trim at the back. I drilled holes to mount the stock rubber trim again, luckily all went well and they drilled without any problem. I used a standard steel bit in a drill press running at 650 rpm, and light pressure with a wood block under the plastic for support as I drilled.

I do like the sound of the stock pipe. - it's kinda my dream garage :) , but it's attached so the wife doesn't always appreciate the smells that find they're way into the house :sick: :whistle:

I was pumped it started so quickly as you can see at the end of the video, "yeah!" B)
I went through the carbs and "wet benched" them, good thing I did as the overflow tube in one of the bowls had a split in it and would start puking at about 1/3 full in the bowl. It had started doing that just before I parked it, I thought it was a needle and seat not sealing.

I’m about done with my resto, just a few things left. I picked it up in 1980 as a salvage bike from an insurance liquidator, bike had 62 miles on it. I don’t know if it had been sold and wrecked that quickly or if it was on a demo ride, in any case someone had painted it black with hand painted gold pinstripes before it was totaled. I followed that theme when I repaired it, a few years later I wanted something with more flash hence the black, red, yellow paint. Eventually I resprayed it with the stock color, and this last fall started to restore it.

Your bike looks fantastic. The color match seems to be excellent in the photos. How did you get that color? Any chance you have a code or formula for that color?

Had a local auto paint mixer-seller (Auto Body Specialists) scan the original color that I exposed under the black paint on the fender. The formula is for "Omni" branded MBC base coat, mixing label says;

Tinting Guide MBC 32377***B
M127..........398.5
M128............57.4
M133............42.9
M117...............6.1
M150..........499.8

this made a quart of base coat
