Hello gordone

I have talk to Andre from Z-Fever today. He say he had added the wrong photo for the self adhesive tank enblem.
If you order: z-fever.de/shop/en/product_info.php?info...m-self-adhesive.html
you will get the same PMC tank enblems as shown in my reply,(without the screw holes).

Ok Short original Z1's are same as LTD's and early KZ400's. I made a few extra bucks on ebay selling shorter tank emblems as OEM 73 Z1

Right and Left from Kawasaki look like the same part from the same mold, just bent to the left or right side of the tank differently. Since they are a malleable aluminum you can easily bend a left one to make it a right one. PMC emblems look like they are made with the same molds Kawasaki used, but they are flat and the white looks a tad different.

Yes, they look the same and I can't imagine why one wouldn't fit on either side but they have different part numbers. The Z1 part is half the cost of the Z1A/B part on Partzilla. Not sure why such a difference. I think they are interchangeable on any Z1 tank.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

In the auto industry, GM I think, they use RH and LH part numbers even if the parts are identical. The reason for this I was told is people demand the correct side part for their vehicle and it is done to keep the customer happy and keep the arguments at the parts counter to a minimum..

Z1 emblem is a lot smaller than a Z1A/B emblem, so less materials, so lower cost?

Gordone, I don't know if this helps you, but I had good luck with Retro Motorsports, a vendor on ebay. I spent a lot of $ with them during my restoration.
Pics of my tank emblems. They had to be bent to fit the tank closely, but I'm happy with their quality. They were about $41 USD, delivered. Good luck to you.
