Those E1-E2 shaft drives were all different and by themselves! Kawasaki engineers & designers took a bath with them! The Frames were wider, the front end trip trees were wider, fork tubes are 41mm. Center stand is wider, side covers are all unique to that shaft. I buy those bikes for $400, $250. For the last 2 that I got. Only thing good on them is the MarkII engine case with crankshaft to use for dragbikes.
If that touring seat came on bike, Have that reupholstered. Z1R will not fit.
But if you have a nice running shaft, I am sure it is a good road bike for comfort. They all had touring fairings and bags. So they were not beat up on the street or dragstrip.
Not my thing. But some guys must love them.

Not even close. The ST seat is even wider than the MKII which looks the same. I personally love the 79-80 shaft drives.
