I'm looking at getting my pin-striping and would like to find the correct size/width for my bike. Was looking at this: 3M Scotchcal Striping Tape 72503, Gold Metallic, 3/8 in x 150 ft Is 3/8" correct?? The shade of gold looks damn close. Please advise. Thanks!!!

I'm sorry, 3/8" would be way too big, ...I'm guessing it'd be more like 1/4" for the bigger of the two stripes. Maybe 1/8" for the narrow stripe? Anyone? Many KZ's had the same pin-stripes. Figured someone would know this info. Please chime in. Thanks!!!

Mine is dark red and has two 1/8" stripes with 1/8" between them. It appears original.

I just went out to the garage and measured the stripes on my Spectre.

The outer one is 1/8" wide with a 1/16" space and 1/16" wide inner stripe.

I've got that bike. Would a picture of the tank be helpful?

Thanks!! But I got a pretty decent pic of my bikes tank, I've owned it for nearly 15 yrs now. I bought this bike as I trying to get over the loss of my 1982 GPZ 1100 that had been stolen from me and wrecked.

The Spectre photos are a "Before" pic......the "After" pics will be forthcoming.

When I'd asked 3M if they had specific pin-stripes @ outside stripe = 1/8" wide, with a 1/16" space and 1/16" wide inner stripe. Here was the response.

You would then need to check with a company called Trient Technology that can custom make that stripe. We do not have that stripe available. Trient Technology can be reached at 800-772-588

Regarding Spectre pin-stripes, I'm using 3M part #73203 ...it's correct, except the Spectre gold color was a guesstimation, but very close.
