Will rear fenders swap? was created by gasdude69
Hello all . . .

New member of the forum. Recently purchased a 1978 KZ650 SR . . . same bike I had in high school! It was a great find, low miles, and the previous owner(s) have taken good care of it.

However, it has a few home-made and/or non-stock parts, one of which is the rear fender and taillight assembly. Looking to replace that with the stock fender/light.

Seeing quite a few on eBay . . . wondering if a standard KZ650 and the SR have the same rear (outer) fender and will swap?

Thanks in advance for any and all info. Looking forward to more convos on this forum!

The KZ650-SR fenders are different than those on the KZ650-B, C, and F models. Ed

The 1980 650E Ltd rear fender looks very similar. The part number is probably different because it has different paint striping than the SR. But other than the paint or striping, it may be the same. There are a couple of 650-D SR & 650E Ltd rear fenders on eebbaayy.

For chrome the 650-CSR Rr fender appears to be similar & it seems to have the same bolt hole patterns for the frame mounts & tail light.. A minor difference that probably shouldn't impact the fitment is that the csr fender has a couple of small recesses to fit around the turn signals.
