KZ250 Gas tank options

I've got a KZ250 that is a labor of hate lately. The tank has been Kreemed long ago and is coming apart to show A LOT of rust underneath. I've been tumbling it, but I need to switch to a chemical solution to remove the Kreem first.
Now, is all this for naught? Is there a tank off another bike that I can swap onto this?

I've heard that acetone will remove it (most paint thinners have acetone) - usually acetone and a handfull of short screws and a good tumble. I don't know of any other tanks that might fit, but maybe best to take your tank to a wreckers yard and see what they've got.
