Question is what color shade is the black on the frame and rest of parts. Is the black satin?
Black paint I'm using seems a little to glossy.

Maybe the problem is the frame paint rather than the new paint. The frame paint was pretty glossy when new or when you polish it. Is it possible your frame paint has dulled down over the years? If so, you should be able to polish it up to its original gloss, and that may match the new paint. Ed

Here's an image that shows part of my frame. The paint is original. It is pretty glossy; much more so than flat paint would be. Maybe satin paint that was polished after curing would have enough sheen without being super high gloss? Ed

Sure, modern base and clear 2 pack can be a bit too good sometimes. That 'dipped in glass' look works great if the prep is right but also highlights defects when it isn't.

One thing doing plenty of wet sanding and high build primer coats on a fuel tank, but chassis parts - a lot of them rough cast with messy welding generally don't get such attention.

Next frame I do I'll use a flatting agent to get a satin look. Usually I can't wait to shoot the clear coats and compounding but sometimes less is more...

I've tried just about every brand of black rattle can I could find over the years, comparing them with original factory painted parts. Here's what I've settled on:
Frame, brackets, seat pan and lower triple clamp - Rustolium Semi-gloss black
Upper triple clamp - Rustolium outdoor Satin black
Engine cases and front hub- PJ1 High Temp Fast Black S (satin)
Paint snobs may laugh, but I tend to stick with Rustolium. The quality is good, It's easy to use, You can buy it anywhere and the price is reasonable. Kawasaki didn't put a lot of time and effort into frame finish. If you're looking for an original appearance, a rattle can of semi-gloss will do fine.
VHT Roll Bar black falls in between satin and Semi-gloss if you feel Semi-gloss has to much shine.

Yes Rustoleum works well. I'm repainting parts of my H2 right now, mixing 2/3 satin black and 1/3 gloss black. Not a perfect match but close enough for me. I've never had anyone look at my motorcycles and critique the accuracy of the frame paint color.

I have used Rust-Olium 7779 Gloss Black to touch up the factory paint. It is a very close match. My local hardware store carries it.
