I am the owner of a 1983 GPZ1100 that has rusty tank. I am in the process of cleaning and sealing the tank but I am stuck because I don't know how to remove the fuel sending unit. Please help, any information given will be truly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Tee

The black piece is just a cover, it pops off. Underneath are bolts to the unit. After you pry the cover off I'm sure you will not need any other instructions as its pretty straight forward wrenching. Careful with the rubber gasket if your going to try and reuse it. Good luck with your build. Keep us posted with pics.

I think the plastic cover is there to divert any fuel leaks away from the engine, so there should be tubing connected to it & routed either to the airbox or to the ground.
