My bike did not have any on it when I bought it. Do they snap on with tabs or screw on? My bike looks like it has nut tabs in the rubber grommets on the frame. I don't like the idea of screws. Push on with tabs would be cleaner looking. Anyone bought the Maier repops? How do they attach? Hows the fit? Hows the quality?

They attach with some bad looking slot head screws. I think they're 1/4-20 thread, so you could use bolts or nicer hardware. You also must drill the side cover holes yourself, so make sure they're in the right place. I've seen them look O.K. on bikes before. It sounds like someone already had a set on your bike. They were a better option before E-BAY came along. Now you can find a set of originals for cheaper....So I wouldn't bother with the Maiers.'

I echo what ZERO said. However, with the exception of the attachment system, the Maier sidecovers are quality ABS plastic. In defense of the screw-on Maier system...they will never blow off.whereas the OEM sidecovers occasionally will.
