Any other seats compatible wit an '82 KZ1000 LTD?

I was wondering if the 77 style, smaller, flatter seat or something like that style is compatible with the frame of the LTD, as I want to use the 79 style rear fender and seat on my LTD for my build. I know the fender isn't a drop in piece as there are no bungs to bolt it in, and I can put those in, but do any other Kawasaki seats out there fit the hinges on the 82 frame?

I think the king and queen style seat on the LTD''s is fugly and I want something sleeker for my cafe build. Any suggestions, other than making a completely custom seat pan, foam and cover?

You could take the cover off, trim the foam down and recover. That would keep your original pan.

your frame is stepped.

a flat seat isn't going to fit.

unless you cut the subframe off and weld a new one in that has flat upper rails.

then talk to doctorot, about a sweet tailpiece  .

just sayin' .

Contact Saddleman (or one of the other seat cover manufacturers) and see if they have a different cover for your seat. I have a '77 KZ1000A and an '82 KZ1000M and the seat pans are slightly different. I've recovered both (using Saddleman LTD seat covers). The '77 had the seat you are describing originally, and I'm sure there are plenty of places that can do the original cover.
