Anyone know if an 1983 KZ750 L3 tank will fit on an '81 KZ750 LTD without any cutting or relocation of mounts? Found this on ebay.... click

Once I get the bike up and running, I'd like to see, with minimum modification, what options I have for a tank swap. Don't like the style of the LTD tank and also would like something with larger capacity.

Your expertise is much appreciated.

Thanks

Until you get a definitive answer.... Note that the tank attaches differently at the rear than the Ltd. You might be able to bend the bolt hole tab to make it work. However, your upper triple will probably bang against the tank (assuming you can mount it to the frame which it may not).

Others have reported that the 4.2 gal 750E fuel tank will bolt-on to the 750H frame, but the Ltd triple tree bangs against it. The Ltd triple is kinda straight across, whereas the E triple tree is angled forward some. The 750E also has more clearance for the larger tank because the bolts thread into the upper triple - instead of having nuts there as does the Ltd. On the positive side, the L3 has the nuts.
