Did Kawasaki use metal flake or just metalic paint on the 1976 bikes? I have a dark green one and cannot tell which it is.

The paint process Kawasaki used on the green and the brown 76 900's was a Candy tri-coat with flake, similar to the 73 root beer and the 74 and the 77 1000.....they all used a silver mid coat flake. If you carefully wet sand down an original part you will see this....or look closely at the typical seat wear to the back of an original paint tank.
