POR-15 and powder coat oven temps. was created by kimsmith4807
Just want to offer this up. During my rebuild I thought it best to line my tank with the por-15 kit before final paint. Didn't want any of the por leaking out on the finished surface. All my paint work is Tiger Gloss black powder coat and hadn't given a thought to what the oven temps would do the the lining. Just as a pre-caution I let the lined tank cure for two weeks. The por-15 lining does just fine with the oven temps, no issues at all.

I had someone powder coated some bicycle frames, but hadn't considered it for tanks. Good tip.

Did you use the Marine Clean and Metal Ready cleaners first? I'm beginning to think repairing the rust spots in my tank is more feasible than replacing it.

Yes. The kit was specific for motorcycle tanks. That marine clean by itself is awesome.
