Gas leaking from tank when on side stand.

When I fill up my bike ( '78 kz 650) and then have it on the side stand, it will not seal at all and gas will leak out of the tank. Can I replace just the spring and gasket or would it be better to replace the whole cap? I looked at Z1 enterprises and didn't see a listing for that but I may have over looked it. Anyone have any ideas that could help out?

I never put in so much gas as to leak. I fill it on the side stand and leave it below the filler neck.

There's supposed to be a vent in the gascap to allow air in so if you overfill with gas and put the bike on the side stand then the gas is going to come out the vent. You dont want to block the vent or bike wont run.
