Kz1000p chrome question

I've owned 3 of these bikes over the years. The most recent one I've acquired is a 2001 in exceptional condition. I've never seen one as clean as this, hence I HAD to buy it no matter what the wife said...lol. My question with this is about the engine. All the covers, stator, clutch, sprocket, ignition, etc are all chromed. They are not polished but chrome. All the other KZPs I've owned we're just dull aluminum if I recall, maybe painted but definitely not chrome. I see some chrome ones on the net but not very often. Was this an ordering option for higher rank officers or parade use? Just curious if anybody has an order build sheet available? Thanks for any info. Attached is a pic the day I bought it.
