That looks great for a $40 paint job! ($20 for paint / $20 for beer) Ed

Would never have thought a rattle can job could look that good. That's awesome.

Looks good. You'll be the first to know if the clear will hold up or not. There is a 2k aerosol clear you can buy online for $18 a can.

I did my Z1B with duplicolor and the 2k aerosol clear. Spent about $60 on the whole paint job.

Why take a chance of ruining a fine paint job....
Wet sand her down, prep and 2-part clear coat her...

She'll be like glass!... ;) B)

I dont think you have too much to worry about, I cant remember the last time I spilled gas on the tank while fueling up, I treat the fuel nozzel like it was nitro- glycerin, & if I do get a spill, I'll grab a paper towel & dip it in the container of washer fuid at the pumps, & no problem !!

I have all the spray equipment and wouldnt spend the dough on actual 2 part clear. The aerosol is cheap and handy doing one bike. You can stretch out one can, like I did, or use 2 cans for a bike. Tank, tail and side panels.

www.repaintsupply.com/pd_2_part_2k_aerosol.cfm

Theres a button on the can you press to activate the clear. Has 24hr shelf life after its been activated.

I would have picked that one up had I known about it at the time. That's more what I was looking for.

Like Pete said, you'll probably be fine. But if you ever repaint, you know what to do. Since you like a highly polished look, use 2 cans for one bike. I used one on mine but only sanded 1/2-3/4 way through the orange peel. I wasnt looking for mirror finish.

That paint job looks amazing for rattle can. I bought a good spray gun with the filters and fancy hoses, etc last year to paint bikes. Spray can is soooooo much easier due to not having to mix stuff and clean the gun thoroughly. But in my spray can efforts I never get the prof look..

I used the SprayMax 2K on mine also. Used two can for the whole bike. Good Stuff!
