Hey Pterosaur,

Thanks for all the patience and answers.

I'll probably run it down to him and see what he says. If it's going to add much more to the cost I'll probably just live with it.

You're right, in the sun if you don't know it's there you won't notice it.

mysticwolf,

I had the bike sprayed by a body man. I have no idea how many coats are on it. My painting equipment ain't that good. You know the nozzle on my Rustolem can keeps getting clogged up.

Thanks fellows.

Hopefully you also learned your lesson on repaints, particularly yellow which seems like a tough color to keep looking good. I had a yellow 1975 Yamaha 400 enduro with factory clearcoat and the paint would stain just like yours. Usually waxing mutiple times, like once a day for a week or so would eventually clear it up.

Had the Z1 painted yellow several months ago, clear coat and all. Couple of weeks ago, filled up with gas, drove 2 miles home, hot engine expanded the gasoline, forced it through the filler cap vent, gasoline brought rust out of the filler cap, deposited red/brown liquid on my tank, liquid sat there for a couple of hours. Now I have this nice rust colored shadow in my paint. Not real obvious but you can see it. Any remedies short of a match? I washed it and used a non cleaner wax, but it still there.

Oh, I did learn not to fill the tank to the bottom of the filler neck.
