New Mirror was created by DanOz7Five0
I wanted to try bar end mirrots. So today I went to my local bicycle shop and picked up a mirror for $13. It looks like it will work well but I didnt feel like trying it in the rain tonight.

As you can see, it was a 1 beer project

I had one, left side, on for a while and found it too low and too far over to use well. I ended up getting one of those stick on convex mirroors, and stuch it on the bar end one. That helped somewhat.Besides the fact I didn't have a right side one. I like to know whats behind me.
I have since found a set of GSXR mirrors that I mounted on my fairing.

I think the mirror is jinxed anyway. It hasnt stopped raining here long enough for me to see what its like. Compared to looking at my shoulders anything will be an improvement though.

This is my main gripe with the mirrors on my 650. All I can see is my shoulders!

I did a bit of looking around for ones that have a longer "stem" on them, but I didn't really see anything. Anyone have any tips for some mirrors that sit a bit higher, or prehaps just flare out to the sides more?

I actually would think that having them pushed out a bit more to the sides would be preferable to having them sit higher, I'm not sure yet. Any thoughts on this?

Dan, I applaud your ingenuity, but I think I would prefer my mirrors to be in the stock location, just sitting at a different spot in the field of vision.

Anyone have a solution?

Emigo makes a bunch of different designs/lengths. They vibrate a lot, or maybe it's my bike... you can find them in any cat. Like Dennis Kirk or Parts Unlimited. I always thought the stock ones worked best. Too bad they are always the first thing to get crunched/broken/bent/tossed.

My original mirrors came from some HD of some sort I believe. They worked fine with my stock bars, but when I put the dragbar on they became useless except to see if I had a chip on my shoulder. There is another mirror thread and someone bent their mirrors to be more over the grips. That crossed my mind but I thought Id give this a try first.

A former member Stormmaster7035 is the one who I copied. Hopefully tomorrow I will get to try it out and get the right side done also.

Just took a quick spin finally with the new mirror. It works pretty good, very stable at city speeds. Tomorrow hopefully I will get to go further with it.

I used to have Honda mirrors on my bike and they worked really well. They were stock on my CB350, but came on many Hondas of that era. Round and convex, I could see everything. I did not have stock bars thought. Here's a pic:

That is a good picture of your bike. I like how you painted the turn signal stems black. I may have to follow your lead on that.

What bars are those?

I'm not sure on what bars those were. I bought them a long time ago.

As for the pipe, yes it was very loud! Just an open pipe. Might explain why I got pulled over a lot in those days. I ended putting a soup can on with holes in it, until that blew off one day.

When I bought my Kerker, I was disappointed at first because of how quite it is. Now I like it.

I read Dano's post about removing the baffle occasionally, and I thought I might try that. Then there was a post about California banning aftermarket pipes on bikes, plus other locales considering the same. Plus the fact that my baflle screw hasn't been removed in over 15 years. With my luck I'll break it, so I think I'll just leave it alone.
