KZ750 Storage

I would like to add some storage to my 82 KZ750 CSR. The only problem is that I drive 30+ miles to school and work one way each day. I would like to get a pair of saddle bags, but something that won't be easy to get in. Are the soft bags easy to prevent a spontaneous thief with a padlock? I’d like to put my rain suit and some stuff in there, but if they can just walk up and zip off, I don’t want that. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

There are some lockable types of hard bags, but they tend to bit a bit on the pricey side. I always think of the locks as deterents, but they'll never stop someone who wants to take something,

I'm using the Cortech tailbag by Tourmaster right now. It works pretty well because it has a shoulder strap and I can take it with me. Same with there saddlebags, but they're a bit more on the bulky side.

I use a tank bag to carry my stuff, been doing it for years and it works really well.
And I can just unsnap it and grab the handle to take it with me, although no one has ever bothered it on the bike.

I've often wondered about a tank bag. Which one do you have, and what's good/bad about it?

I like the idea of a tank bag myself. I'm hauling my stuff back and forth to work in a back pack, though I've gotten used to it, I'm a lot more comfy without it. I've been looking at tank bags on ebay. Prices range from cheap to ridiculous, so a little research is in order. Strap or magnetic mount,hmmm?....

I had saddle bags and a rack for part of last season, but they don't fit with my bikes new look. As well I have used a backpack, but like riding without one better.

I just bought a tank bag at the motorcycle show at the International Center. $69. So far am liking it. It has magnets and a strap which I put around the tank near the carbs. It has a map pocket on top, is expandable, has backpack straps and a handle, has a separate water proof cover, and a detachable fanny pack, and lots of pockets.

Mine is secured with straps, but if I get another one it's going to be magnetic.

It's expandable, has a zipper around the out side that makes it about 4-5" taller when I unzip it (only did it once). In the summertime, when I leave I have my leather jacket (size 48), my gloves, a few bungee cords, and a two liter bottle of Diet Coke inside the main compartment, and my tools, the rain cover, my cigarettes (I'm always trying to quit), and my wallet, in the outside compartments. I never use the map holder on top, I'll know where I'm going when I get there

If my wife goes with me, then I'll stuff her jacket and gloves in there also.

The only thing I dislike about it is having to disconnect the front strap and flip it back to put fuel in the tank.
