So, I'm exploring the idea of mounting some ammo box saddlebags on the skoot for some near future touring.

It's fairly common, so I wonder if anybody here has done it, and how they fabbed mounts or if there was any off the shelf mounts that could be a good start?

I thought about ammo box saddlebags, then decided I didn't want somthing that fugly mounted on my bike, and would wait til I can find some cheap hard saddle bags on ebay.

I'd say your best bet for making your own mounts, is to study your turn signal mounting points and top shock mounts, and have on hand some flat bar stock or fairly sturdy cardboard you can hold up for a visual.
