Looks darn good. Anytime we can get good results with little work, we will listen. Can you get an identical pic like the first one so we can get a better comparison? Thanks

i am out of town on buisness, but i will as soon as i get back on saturday. I wish i would have taken pics of the fork tubes, it really cleaned those babies up good. I did three coats, first two with super fine steel wool, and last one with just a red shop rag.

here is the other side after 1 coat(forgot to take a before)

ive allways had great luck with mothers aluminum polish any kind of polish is going to take a lot of rubbing ive got piles of old t-shirts i use just keep using a clean spot on the rag your using as long as youre getting black stuff on your rag keep on rubbing.be very carefull using a dremel to polish aluminum parts ,i spent a few hours the other day filing and block sanding a lower fork leg to get the waves out that someone put in there polishing them with a dremel.

i tried mothers and it did not get as much out as gords did, and the work with gords was easier. i have never tried to use the blue magic. gordsaluminumpolish.com/index.html is the website for gords. Unfortunatly, i decided i was going to drive her up to arkansas, and about 200 miles into the trip i am pretty sure i blew a piston ring. Back into the shop she goes.

I just spent several hours doing the same thing basically, looks like on the same engine. My sides were tarnished badly, and there was a layer of laquer covering a big part of each side cover. I used paint stripper to remove the laquer and then 3m rubbing compound and then mothers billet polish with a buffing attachment on my drill. Still a ways to go, but a major improvement.
