Painting spoke wheels?

I have been considering painting my spoke wheels..getting new tires soon and thought would be a good time. Has anyone done this and what type of paint did you use? I have been looking at those hammerite paints possibly or the epoxy spray paints for appliances. Ever used either of these?

I used black primer with clear on mine. Just gotta make sure they're super clean/scuffed-up. The hammertone paint might look kinda cool...

I just painted mine yesterday. I used a etching primer followed by an enamal paint that I got from an autobody supply store.

what is the etching primer? is it clear?

It is a grey colored primer.

I'll be painting a set of those wheels in gunmetal hammertone paint in a week or few, so I'll post some photos. I used the same colour hammertone paint on some car wheels that had apolished lip on the rim, and they looked great! Also, they never had a chip in them after that paint was put on.

I painted mine with epoxy enamel (black). They came out looking like they did before, except they look new. The hardest part was masking all the polished edges. That took about an hour. Before that I had to remove the disks, and clean the surfaces well to removve any hint of oil or other gunk. The actual spraying took very little time.

They seem to be holding up well, after 6 months and a few thousand miles.

Your wheel looks great. How do you like your Kenda Challenger tires? Theyre all I run since Im not into carving mountains Just cruising.

The Kendas seem good I like them. I live in the bald, flat prarie our roads are long and strait so they are a good cheap choice.
