Chin/Engine scoops. was created by nfswift
I have been seeing some older fairing on KZs around the community and those Chin scoops that go with em are pretty tight looking, like on rstnick's bike in particular!

Where can you find these for kz650s? And do they have a practical purpose or are they simply for looks?

I wonder if I could pull off a chin scoop with little or no top fairing, those little things are really growing on me!

Don't think any on sells one for KZ's. What most do is get on off a 80's sportbike and modify to fit. Honda Interceptors 500-750 are popular.

They also pull more air to the motor to keep it cooler.

I think mine is an Emgo. I mounted it to make sure it fit and have never used it since. I had to trim some on the bottom to clear the 4 into 1 header, but it doesn't show when mounted. It's a universal kit and says that it works with any double down tube frame. I think Dennis Kirk still sells them. I'll post the link if I can find it.

OK, some memory I have...I guess mine is a Maier, not an emgo. Anyway, here is the link:

Here's another link to the one at JC whitney:

They definitely look cool and are supposed to help with engine cooling too.

Mine came off a VF500 Interceptor. I had to take a Dremel tool to it and do some triming to get it to fit properly. I bought it on ebay. Not much to it really, material wise, but it does help to fill in the bottom. And if it helps to cool the engine, then an added bonus.

Well, crap !! after much trial and error. Ive come to the conclusion that a ZX6R lower fairing will NOT fit a KZ650C2...LOL... Ive trimmed it and tryed several times to get it to go on evenly and to no avail. Oh well $40.00 down the tubes... Wayne
