I like it kz550man. Makes me think of experimenting with flames one day. B)

Anyone good with photoshop or something that could make my fairing blue and add some gold flames to this pic:

Hey thanks guys!
How did you guys do this? When I use the lasoo (sp) tool to go around things, I get squigly lines. Yours are just right.

im inexperienced with it and had very squiggly lines but they didnt show with the black around the edges.
i need to find someone close to me that can teach me how to use it.
i like the idea of modifying things without actually cutting them up.

i'm a video/multimedia producer and have a degree in graphic design...so i've used photoshop a bit.

masking is a combination of using the magic wand, and manual selection with the lasso. to get the color to match, i used a hue/saturation layer effect with the colorize option [masking only the fairing]. there was another layer effect to get the contrast back.

the flames were pulled from another image found in a gooogle search. i erased everything but the flames. stretched the flames to fit, then applied more color effects.

the trick with photoshop is to take your time...a good mask with all the fine detail could take a while. the other trick is to use plenty of layers...photoshop is a compositing application...it specializes in taking many images and blending them into one final composite. the bike image had at least seven layers by the time i was done. that way you can tweak eack individual layer until it all looks right.

smoke and mirrors.

cheers!
