I agree with Joce. I'd get all the old Bondo off it to be sure the metal under it was properly cleaned in the first place.;) Too much work involved to skip it. Then you won't have to worry about "what to do to the Bondoed areas".

I'd wear gloves and use Acetone to do this.


I have resealed the inside of my tank, so wouldn't acetone eat that off?

What is your sealer? Acetone won't hurt epoxy short term.
