'81 KZ1000-M1 CSR rear fender?

Can a duck tail rear fender be installed on my '81 CSR 1000? Do I have to fabricate brackets, switch seat style, etc? Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately the answer to all of those questions is, yes. Neather the frame or the seat are set up for the tail. I went threw the same thing with my project, which started with a 81 CSR.

So...
Since style or color is of no major concern, get what I can get, begin the fabrication process and "make it fit?"

Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the internal mounting situation for the tail yet. If you want to mount an older stile "Duck Tail" it will be a bit different, because the mount holes are in completely different places. However you will have to get an earlier LTD seat to be able to do this, or cut up the tail to fit behind the seat instead of under as on the original. The question is which way do you want to go.
