A while back someone here had posted pics of a 750B twin and had put on sidecovers from an early 80's 750 twin and they popped right on, with no fabrication. Does anyone recall what sidecovers those were or what thread that was? I've done alot of searching but can't seem to find that thread.

I think you mean steell, who has a '79 750 (that orignally had the horrid huge covers), and put '80 750 covers on.

I asked him the question if they fit, and said yes, but they only use 3 of the four mount points, so one is left unused and uncovered.

Someday I want to get a set of '80 covers for mine, too... it's on the low-priority list...

Much as I'd love to take credit for the discovery, honesty compels me to admit that Erol (Godsjester71) told me that they would fit :D

My 79 KZ750B4 is dressed with the 80 KZ750G tank and sidecovers.

Here is a pic of it before I put the matching tail on it.

Actually, the only 79 KZ750B4 parts on that bike are the frame, seat, airbox, carbs, tail, rear fender, turn signals, rear master cylinder, rear caliper, axles, gauges, and tail light :D
