If you look at the pic I posted in the new members forum of the bike I just picked up it has the same seat. This bike had me puzzled because of a few differences from the 77 I owned years ago. i.e. the headlight on/off switch is missing and the paint is orange (not faded red). After research (read manual) I realized the bike is a Canadian model. Also found another orange one for sale in Canada on EBay.

Just checked my seat and there are no signs of it being a Kawi original. i.e. part number, stickers, etc. Mine must be aftermarket also.

I don't think so Mike. The KZ650 was a hugely popular model, and no doubt dealers could order a selection of different seats, but they were not from Kawasaki. All aftermarket.
And to LTDrider, thanks for picturing my bike.

Ron, I think Kawasaki did have an optional LTD style seat back then. It wasn't stock but you could order it as an option. Mine has one........


321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
