Can anyone tell me what they look at specifically in NY for an inspection, like do the they measure how far apart the turn signals are?? I'm looking to replace the stock stalks among other things

I've never seen anyone check the distance between turn signals. They will check to make sure that they work though. They also check your horn, high & low beams, brake light, and tail light. They may check your steering head for looseness, tire tread depth, brake pad thickness as well. I've never failed a New York State Inspection, and I've had some pretty dicey rides at times.

You wouldn't happen to have a decent original seat, would you?

As for the inspection, they've never measured how far apart my signals are. I'm pretty sure the Buell signals I put on the Triumph are closer together than the stockers.

I've never had any problems in either NY, CT, or
other parts of New England with turn sig locations.
As you can see from this pic,... stalks? what stalks?
