Seat cover was created by 2bskor
Good morning everyone I was wondering if anyone has ever purchase a aftermarket seat cover. I have a 79 kz1000st and it needs replacing I have seen a few place on the net but I thought I might get some feedback first. They don't show the covers and I want it to look oe as possible, not just plain black I would hope it would have a similar pattern as the original.

This place makes a pretty decent seat cover and has a good selection.

I bought one for my ZN700 through J.C. Whitney online, and surprisingly it was even better than the original cover that my bike came with.
It has thicker material, EXACT same stitch pattern, a thin layer of foam padding on the underneath side, and can be attached with the supplied drawstring (not for me) or with staples like the OEM cover was to the seat pan.

I paid about $60 shipped IIRC, and I'm totally satisfied with it. :)

Exactly the same comments as RetroRiceRocketRider.

I bought a Travelcade seat cover this summer through Z1 for about $50 USD. Looks as good and I think better than the oringinal but no Kawasaki lettering on the back.

I hand-made one by hand the year before (for 1/3 the price) and while is was better than the torn original it was not as comfortable or sharp looking as the Travelcade.

Best of success

J.C. Whitney.com actually had a listing for the seat cover for the '84/'85 ZN700 LTD, but I looked just now and they don't appear to offer it anymore.
IIRC the ZN700 and ZN750 are identical aside from the obvious cylinder bore diff, so the seat covers should fit as well.

There are other places/people out there that sell the covers though, and in the last 6 months I've seen 3 nice ZN700 seats sell on eBay.
I've even seen diff styled covers for the ZN700 models listed on eBay.
Here's a stock styled cover:
New 84-85 Kawasaki ZL700 LTD Standard Seat Cover (title should read ZN700, since there's isn't a ZL700 model, and the pic they show isn't representative of what the cover actually looks like).

I'm eventually planning on buying one of these custom covers, since it will compliment the flame paint job on my bike really nicely! B)
New 84-85 Kawasaki ZN700 LTD Embossed Flame Seat Cover

Sure they might sound a little pricey, but a whole lot cheaper than a NOS OEM seat (about $360! :pinch:) or NOS OEM seat cover (about $160!), and that's IF they're even still available anymore.

When you search on eBay for anything don't forget to check the "store" listings, which is where I found the above two seat cover auctions at. ;)
