hey guys i was searchin on ebay, and came across a tail section for a 1978 kz 400, do any of you know of this will fit a 1976 kz 400?

A '78 tail does not fit a pre-'78 without serious modification. I tried it and got it to work with my '76 seat, but I strongly advise that you use a '78 seat with it.

I had to hack the hell out of the tail piece to get it to work with my '76 seat -- so much so, that I didn't feel it was structurally safe in the end.

Here's a picture of the bike from the short span of time I had the tail piece on...
